I have been using my SB Live Value PCI for over a year with ALSA with no problems. I recently swapped the card for a newer SB Live 5.1 DE PCI card. Even though these cards are pretty much the same, alsaconf cannot detect any supported sound cards. lspci shows that the new card is indeed detected. Regards, grolschie ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rlrevell - 12-31-05 00:32 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Try attached patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- grolschie - 12-31-05 02:42 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I never got back to you. No excuse really. After doing an 'apt-get upgrade' which probably installed a newer version of ALSA and the Kernel, and then running alsa-config, sound is now back. I am running Debian "Sid" so somewhere a kernel version and alsa-version were not in sync after a previous update? Or a bug was resolved.
