ALSA does not detect the card currently and when I try to load the snd-1724 module it fails with an EEPROM error. I have tried compiling a new kernel with the subdevice id for the Prodigy 7.1 in aureon.h changed to correspond to my device (as detailed here for another card http://linux.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/comp.os.linux.hardware/2004-10/0340.html). Alsa then detects the card and I can load modules and change volumes in alsamixer but I haven't been able to produce any sound. Hopefully support will be easy to add as this card is almost exactly the same as the Prodigy 7.1 (and Aureon Space etc.) which already have support. I would be very happy to give any further information needed. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ungod - 06-30-05 01:03 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes! Lets make som support for this card! I did some googleing for some techincal information about the Prodigy LT model, however I didn't end up with any certain facts about the card or highres photos. http://www.pcwelt.de/imgserver/bdb/36500/36530/original.jpg was the best I could find, but it is not sufficient to identify the chips, so you will have to do that for me. I have made a diagram (http://linux.developers.dk/prodigy.png) of how the card seems to be organized. The red boxes are chips which may be important. If you could write down the manufacturer and model of each of these, things may become easier. Chip no. 7 doesn't look like a sound-related chip, but it might be a good idear to also write down the name of this one. Besides there seems to be a lot of what looks like opamps (makes sense, since this is an audio card) and a few voltage regulators, but they are irrelevant for a driver implementation. Just for the sport of it, I did a similar diagram of my own card (Aureon Space 7.1). It is located at http://linux.developers.dk/aureon.png (An actual photo can be seen at http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/hotline/20030222/image/aur1.html ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- baesyspem - 06-30-05 01:46 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I can help with that: VIA ICEnsemble, ENVY24HT, VT1724-0428CD 1.
