Description: When playing a sound through the speakers on Toshiba Tecra 8100 the only sound produced is noise. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wallsga - 11-22-04 14:26 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Confirmation: Tecra 8100 - YMF744 - Redhat 9.0 - linux-2.4.20-8custom - alsa-drivers-1.0.7 The following works for me *sometimes*: (edit /etc/modules.conf to comment out alsa stuff) modprobe ymfpci play /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Beep_Ahem.wav (sound plays) rmmod -r ymfpci (edit /etc/modules.conf to uncomment alsa stuff) /etc/init.d/alsasound start alsamixer (verify things aren't muted) aplay /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Beep_Ahem.wav (sound plays or it doesn't, but if it does, I can continue to play more files) It appears to be essential that I play a sound while the OSS driver is loader. -Andy edited on: 11-22-04 14:26 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiwai - 11-22-04 14:37 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, then please get the information before and after the working state.
