I added /etc/asound.state and /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/*
during playing a 5.1 DVD with xine configured as pass through.

Maybe you wanna see iecset?

idefix:/usr/src # iecset
Mode: consumer
Data: non-audio
Rate: 48000 Hz
Copyright: permitted
Emphasis: none
Category: PCM coder
Original: original
Clock: 1000 ppm

 alsarealist - 01-04-06 23:11
----------------------------------------------------------------------
/proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/ac97#0-0+regs |grep 0:3a
0:3a = 2822

The ALC 850 chip contain in bit 15 register 3ah a validity control flag
for SPDIF? Should this bit be set when playing DTS or Dolby 5.1 streams?
