The chipset is a Realtek ALC880 with a Uniwill subsystem. With the previous version of ALSA (1.0.9b), I had the LineIn/Speakers mixup issue. That problem is now fixed with the 1.0.10rc1 version (and previously with a CVS), but now the PC Speaker is muted and doesn't apear on AlsaMixer. I'm using ALSA 1.0.10rc1 drivers + libs + oss + utils. Another thing! Does this sound card support multiplexing? Either by hardware, or if ALSA can achieve that by software. I'm having trouble playing more than one sound at the same time, and all the things I've read until now, didn't help me :-\ If more information is needed, just let me know :-) Cheers, Quetzy Garcia ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiwai - 08-23-05 19:33 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah, I understood wrongly. Then try another one, uniwil-beep.diff, instead. It's to ALSA CVS but should be applicable to 1.0.10rc1, too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- quetzyg - 08-23-05 20:55 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- It works!!! I had to download the CVS version of patch_realtek.c, because the 1.0.10rc1 version didn't patch correctly. By the way, can you tell me why does my /dev/dsp* /dev/mixer*, etc sound related devices dissapear everytime I turn off the laptop? That's another thing google couldn't find for me. ARGH! :-( And, thanks again for the patch :-) Issue History Date Modified Username Field Change ====================================================================== 08-22-05 20:53 quetzyg New Issue 08-22-05 20:53 quetzyg Distribution => Slackware 10.1 08-22-05 20:53 quetzyg Kernel Version => 2.6.12.5 08-23-05 00:19 quetzyg Issue Monitored: quetzyg 08-23-05 16:38 tiwai Note Added: 0005907 08-23-05 16:39 tiwai File Added: uniwil.diff 08-23-05 19:26 quetzyg Note Added: 0005914 08-23-05 19:33 tiwai Note Added: 0005915 08-23-05 19:33 tiwai File Added: uniwil-beep.diff 08-23-05 20:55 quetzyg Note Added: 0005917 ====================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf
