Summary: Master volume control only controls front speakers
Description:
The master volume control has no effect on the rear speakers.
The rear speakers can be controlled by "Sigmatel Surround" but not
completly muted.
I use "Sigmatel 4-Speaker Stereo" to get sound on all 4 speakers. The
speakers are plugged into both output plugs on the soundcard.
I tried all volume controls that are provided, there seems to be no master
control.

I created this report because the volume control on my ens1371 did not work
correctly. But I do not know why there is no more reference to the
ens1371.

If you want to mute the rear speaker, the simplest way is to turn "Sigmatel
4-Speaker Stereo" off.
The name of the control should be named according to the slots assigned to
the pcm
It depend how stac9708 is configured - multi-channels programming register
74h.
