The fix is to run alsamixer and adjust the slider again. This forces the channel to unmute. I was created diff from proc filesystem. Test options: alsamixer cp -ar /proc/asound procfs_before/ alsamixer --> DAC volume 20->22 and 22->20 cp -ar /proc/asound procfs_after/ diff -Nru proc_before proc_after diff is attached.
