The chipset is a Realtek ALC880 with a Uniwill subsystem. With the previous version of ALSA (1.0.9b), I had the LineIn/Speakers mixup issue. That problem is now fixed with the 1.0.10rc1 version (and previously with a CVS), but now the PC Speaker is muted and doesn't apear on AlsaMixer. I'm using ALSA 1.0.10rc1 drivers + libs + oss + utils. Another thing! Does this sound card support multiplexing? Either by hardware, or if ALSA can achieve that by software. I'm having trouble playing more than one sound at the same time, and all the things I've read until now, didn't help me :-\ If more information is needed, just let me know :-) Cheers, Quetzy Garcia ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- quetzyg - 08-23-05 20:59 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- It works!!! I had to download the CVS version of patch_realtek.c, because the 1.0.10rc1 version didn't patch correctly. By the way, can you tell me why does my /dev/dsp* /dev/mixer*, etc sound related devices dissapear everytime I turn off the laptop? I have to run the snddevices script to restore the missing devices. Altough the sound seems to work fine without /dev/dsp, and so forth. That's the place to apply the patch. Anway, I committed the patch to CVS. The problem of /dev/dsp* comes definitely from udev, and I think it's intentional. The device should appear again when the module is re-inserted.
