Summary: aoss not working with audacity
Description:
Following up from a recent LKML thread, I'm going to report a number of
aoss incompatibilities with softwares on Linux.
First up is audacity, which has no ALSA port. snd-pcm/mixer-oss aren't
loaded.

You have to configure --with-portaudio=v19 to support ALSA for audacity

I'm filing a bug report on aoss, it's (mostly) irrelevant that Audacity can
be compiled to support ALSA. Thanks for the info though, I'll do this for
the moment.
