For example, the default BIOS settings are IRQ=11, DMA1=0, DMA2=1, but alsaconf detects IRQ=5, DMA1=1, DMA2=0. No matter the BIOS settings, alsaconf always detects those settings (IRQ=5, DMA1=1, DMA2=0). If I set the BIOS settings to that, then the card will make sound (after touching the mixer while playing audio). According to perex (author of the opl3sa2 driver): "The alsaconf tries to gather free resources (irq/dma/ports) from the /proc filesystem. It might be extended to gather this information also from /sys filesystem." ====================================================================== Relationships ID Summary ---------------------------------------------------------------------- related to 0000879 (snd_)opl3sa2 (isa) doesn't work (fails... ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- perex - 08-22-05 12:32 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Can you retest with 1.0.10rc1? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ahaning - 08-22-05 15:18 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Building alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1 failed with: /usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.c:487:40: macro "create _workqueue" passed 2 arguments, but takes just 1 /usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.c: In function `snd_com pat_create_workqueue2': /usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.c:487: `create_workqueu e' undeclared (first use in this function) /usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.c:487: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once /usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.c:487: for each functio n it appears in.) make[4]: *** [/usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore/misc.o] Error 1 make[3]: *** [/usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1/acore] Error 2 make[2]: *** [_module_/usr/src/alsa-1.0.10rc1/alsa-driver-1.0.10rc1] Error 2 make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.12' make: *** [compile] Error 2 create_workqueue was called with (name, 0) so I edited out the 0.
