Subject: [ath9k-devel] AR9382 spams syslog with loads of "Chip reset failed" messages
Date: Sat, 13 Sep 2014 22:05:12 +0300	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <54149568.7070806@inbox.lv> (raw)

Hi!

I bought AR5BHB116 wifi which is half size mini pcie card with 2 antenas
for use as an AP with hostapd. Till this moment I can not get that card
working as it should work.
I tried multiple machines, kernels and distros and it's all the same, it
spams logs with this no matter in what mode - AP or managed:
    [ 140.993008] ath: phy0: Chip reset failed
[ 140.993083] ath: phy0: Unable to reset channel, reset status -22
[ 141.427312] ath: phy0: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms
AR_CR=0xdeadbeef AR_DIAG_SW=0xdeadbeef DMADBG_7=0xdeadbeef
[ 141.427607] ath: phy0: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing
the DMA engine when we start RX up

CPU is busy 100% as it's logging this really fast, although it's just an
Atom 330 (dual core + ht).
Even this triggers spamming: ifconfig wlan0 up

What I've tried:
distros: debian wheezy, archlinux, ubuntu 14.04
    kernels: 3.2, 3.12, 3.13, 3.15, 3.16
    machines: Acer 3610, D2500CCE
tried nohwcrypt=1, tried power saving off (apparantly it's already
off with AP mode)

Guys, what can I do to fix this? Is there anything I can help with
debugging?

regards
Eduards
