I'm not an expert in these things, but to me it looks like the "overall RSSI" is 
just the (logarithmised) sum of the per-chain RSSIs. Here is an example taken 
from a frame received by a two chain system:

Total SSI:   -63 dBm
"Antenna 0": -67 dBm
"Antenna 1": -66 dBm

10 * log10( 10^(-6,7) + 10^(-6,6) ) = -63.46
