I use Arch Linux. I have a compaq nx6325 laptop with a BCM 4311. I have been using the standard kernel module(s) and version 5.100.138-2 of the b43-firmware from the Arch User Repository. I connect to my home router (TP-LINK WD8960N) using netctl as follows: Interface=wlan0 Connection=wireless Security=wpa ESSID=geoffnet Key= IP=static Address=('10.0.0.2/24') Gateway='10.0.0.138' DNS=('10.0.0.138') Authentication at the router set to "WPA2-PSK (best)" Everything has been running perfectly until the kernel was upgraded from 3.14 to 3.15 a couple of days ago. I can still bring wlan0 up and down with "ip link set", but I can no longer connect to the router. netctl fails. If I try to connect using wp_supplicant rather than netctl the the output is an endless loop of "CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-STARTED". I have confirmed that reverting to kernel 3.14 cures the problem. I have found one other bug report which involves the same machine and 4311 card.
