Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] (rev 01)

Hi everybody!!I have many problems on running my card with b43 driver...Searching on the net I understood?Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] (rev 01) were supported, but I never successed on keep it working!!I used older or newer firmware with no changes..I charged b43 with a b43.conf with pio=1 option but nothing..I had problems with any kernel (from2.6.32 to 2.6.35rc2) and with any dists (ubuntu and archlinux).I also found on gentoo wiki a more complete list of supported card: my card seems to be really supported also considering subsystem:?Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:1508]Please help me to understend if the problem is on my card or on my config...Tks!!neubauten84

dmesg output of the failure.

AFAIK 2.6.35 should auto-switch to PIO if this happens. Could you post
a log with 2.6.35-rc?

That was with 2.6.35-3-generic on Ubuntu Maverick. The net fell down as always and as always it didn't reconnect anymore..but no more DMA messages..I had to restart module..as always..Tks!

It doesn't work..it doesn't recognize the right mode!!I have to manually force pio.Have I to recompile the kernel or using b43.conf file is enough?Tks!

"It doesn't work" is not a proper error description - please post logs
of what's actually happening (i.e. dmesg).

You are still not running the new kernel. You should see b43
auto-switching to PIO here.
Check the output of "uname -r".

Ok..sorry for html mails..
I recompiled kernel from vanilla adding PIO mode forcing and nothing changes because I still have to use b43.conf with qos=0 option. If I don't bcm4312 doesn't connect.
I attached new dmesg with or without b43.conf file.

The problem is not related to dma, I think, because even with pio forcing the connection (specially when is under pressure, when download traffic is high) at a time falls down and I have to reload b43.

Do NOT enable PIO mode forcing! The only thing that does is ALWAYS use

loading in DMA mode, failing, and falling back to PIO. So, it is
important NOT to disable DMA.

mode. My platform is the ARM processor, and all my customers use the 
4318E CF (PCMCIA) card as their choice, since we don't have a PCI bus. 
My distributions all have force PIO mode on. I hope that is okay?

I was referring to the practice of forcing PIO to fix DMA errors on
BCM4312. However, PCMCIA will always use PIO, regardless of the force
setting, so it is meaningless to set Force PIO for PCMCIA (apart from
perhaps codesize reduction by omitting dma.c).
