Hi, ALL,
I have very strange problem that I would like to address.
First about my system:

Now to the problem.
I boot my laptop, then execute following commands:
IgorsGentooOnNetwork igor # cat ./setup_wireless
ifconfig wlan0 up
wpa_supplicant -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -iwlan0 -B
dhcpcd wlan0 -d
I am getting an IP without any problems. I can browse web without any problems.
However if I leave the laptop for some time and then come back and refresh the page on the browser
I see that I'm not connected to my AP. Instead it connects to the AP that is located in the office
and it asks for the AP credentials.
The laptop is running an "ivman" - daemon to do memory swap.
What strucks me is that this problem occurs once for about 100 successful runs.
However, if I close the lid of the laptop and then after some time open it the same problem appears. But
in this scenario it appears more often.
What might be the cause?
If you need an additional info, I will be happy to provide it.
Also I understand that I'm on outdated kernel, but if you guys tell me to upgrade and this problem
will go away, I will do that.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

There are not any b43 errors in dmesg and considering your scenario I
don't think driver has anything to do with this.
I don't understand your part: "it asks for the AP credentials". What
do you mean by "it"? AFAIK wpa_supplicant does not have interactive
mode.
The situation sounds pretty simple. Your connection was broken (that
happens in WiFI, with every card/driver) and SOMETHING tries to
connect to another AP you configured...

I don't know but I believe, this is your real problem. You have to
find out what deamon manages your connections without you begin aware
of that.
I already asked you important question but your answer was something
totally else than what I expected. I asked *WHAT* is asking you for
"AP credentials" and you responded with "computer looses connection to
my AP and connects to another one". Well, just check what application
is asking you for "AP credentials" and kill it.

I'm sorry, but I have no knowledge about such a network solutions and
I still don't understand the real problem I'm afraid. I can't really
help with that.
Does someone from ML understand that and can help?

I suspected that, but I was confused by:
"browser (...) asks you for credentials (...) Especially if you
wpa_supplicant does not know about such network."
So I decided it's not such a HTTP transparent proxy, because
wpa_supplicant would not have anything to do with that.

I was sure wpa supplicant connects only to the network that was typed
in passed configuration file...? And AFAIK only can network can by
specified. That would not explain connecting to other open network
with transparent HTTP proxy.

Problem happens from time to time, maybe after first scanning the
right AP was simply not detected.
