After searching the archives it seems someone else already patched the
same place and submitted it nearly a year ago.

It appeared in the mplayer svn at 21480 (dec, 06).  RC1 was released at
Oct 06.

Thus far with the patch in the link I have no trouble - mplayer and
qtopia both build without SUSV3 stuff.  Now to find out if the rest
builds as well.

A
