When saveconfig is used this way, it makes sense to re-add it, that's right. It could be something like: make BOARD=yourcompany/yourboard saveboardconfig Which would save: kernel configuration, uclibc configuration, busybox configuration, u-boot configuration to target/device/yourcompany/yourboard.
