What about the other CFLAGS, from $(TARGET_CFLAGS)? You probably want to
use them, likes so:

    CFLAGS="$(TARGET_CFLAGS) -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE" \

>  	LDFLAGS="$(TARGET_LDFLAGS) -lpcre -lpthread" \

... like we do here for LDFLAGS.
