I think a better solution would be to switch to using -std=gnu99 (or
std=c99). For example:

    LIBTASN1_CONF_OPTS = CFLAGS="$(TARGET_CFLAGS) -std=gnu99"

I've doen a quick test-build, and it seems to fit the bill here. Care to
sanity-check this proposal and resend, please?
