Subject: [Buildroot] [git commit] package/snort: remove package
Date: Tue, 7 Apr 2026 21:54:20 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20260407200239.D61F9807EC@busybox.osuosl.org> (raw)
[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 30128 bytes --]
commit: https://gitlab.com/buildroot.org/buildroot/-/commit/56c6862bc81ef41c0fe012677eafa24381b1f76c
branch: https://gitlab.com/buildroot.org/buildroot/-/tree/master
Snort is not maintained for a while now and blocks the removal of the
pcre(v1) package so we remove it from buildroot.
Point to snort3 as an alternative.

-Subject: [PATCH] Fix compile error when building against uclibc or musl
-
-The build fails when dereferencing the rpcent structure with uclibc or musl C libraries.
-
-../../../src/dynamic-preprocessors/appid/service_plugins/service_rpc.c:241:20:
-error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type âstruct rpcentâ
- if (rpc->r_name)
-
-That's because rpc.h should be included when using these C libraries.
