I've found a solution to that. It appears that customizing Target Architecture
Variant to a non-default value fixes the issue. I've changed from nocona
(default) to steamroller and that fixed the issue.

$ make menuconfig
 Target options  --->
  Target Architecture Variant (steamroller)  --->
