Perhaps there's a better label scheme than failN? It conveys how the
labels are ordered but it doesn't give any hint at what part of the
function they jump to, so I don't find that scheme particularly easy to
work with.
(The removal of the duplicate call can have my Reviewed-by though: I
checked nothing depends on i_blocks before the second call.)
