Thanks for your link on the topic "mktextfm ptmr8t errors". The involved
variations for package names might be interesting.

Now I have also installed the package "texlive-times 2013.72.svn28614-11.2.1"
for my openSUSE system.
https://software.opensuse.org/package/texlive-times

I am sorry that I did not find it earlier.
