Shortly after I wrote the above, the current kernel (Linux Kaktus
2.6.32-bpo.3-686 #1 SMP Wed Mar 17 14:31:18 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux) decided to
prove me wrong and got stuck at 800 MHz while running.
