Subject: [DPDK/DTS Bug 1902] dts: reconsider test case types for tests that do not require a TG
Date: Thu, 12 Mar 2026 19:04:31 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-1902-3@http.bugs.dpdk.org/> (raw)

http://bugs.dpdk.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1902

            Bug ID: 1902
Summary: dts: reconsider test case types for tests that do not
                    require a TG
           Product: DPDK
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Normal
         Component: DTS
          Assignee: dev@dpdk.org
          Reporter: abailey@iol.unh.edu
                CC: juraj.linkes@pantheon.tech, probb@iol.unh.edu
  Target Milestone: ---

With the addition of the cryptodev test suite, A new test case type was added
in order to run tests without setting up a traffic generator if a test did not
use it. The name for this decorator is "crypto" which isn't entirely truthful
to it's purpose. This approach removed the distinction between functional and
performance tests which we still want to maintain while being able to run tests
without a TG.
