Youre right, such a nice chipset/laptop - and every Raspberry Pi for a few dollars has better drivers today. Its a shame...minutes ago I found out that Ubuntu Mate seems to work, too - but not Kodi. Installed it on Ubuntu Mate = and the osd while playing a video has the same striped look as the menubar of Ubuntu's Unity-desktop...not sure if it is the same problem but it looks al= most the same.
