So, I've never done this before but I managed to recompile the kernel with the attached patch and boot from it. I've been running on the performance_level auto setting for about an hour now and haven't encountered the freeze. I'll be using it for a few hours tomorrow to make sure but considering it usually takes only ~20 minutes to freeze, I'd consider this version fixed. On this note, I guess there are ways to apply a patch to the radeon driver without recompiling the whole kernel? That'd make things less time-consuming. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. --14532523990.375B6e1.26137 Date: Wed, 20 Jan 2016 01:13:19 +0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/html

So, I've never done this before but I managed to recompile the kernel with the
attached patch and boot from it.

I've been running on the performance_level auto setting for about an hour now
and haven't encountered the freeze. I'll be using it for a few hours tomorrow
to make sure but considering it usually takes only ~20 minutes to freeze, I'd
consider this version fixed.

On this note, I guess there are ways to apply a patch to the radeon driver
without recompiling the whole kernel? That'd make things less time-consuming.
