Thanks, but I did that. Here is my process:
Stable system configuration (power management doesn't crash):
1) Make sure amdgpu is blacklisted:
# vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
-> add "blacklist amdgpu" at the bottom
# update-initramfs -u -k all
2) Update grub parameters:
# vim /etc/default/grub
-> Set the correct defaults: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=3D"radeon.c=
ik_support=3D1
amdgpu.cik_support=3D0"
# update-grub
3) reboot the system
Unstable system configuration (power management crashes the entire system w=
hen
it tries to power off the monitors):
1) Make sure amdgpu can be loaded:

It's a fairly easy way to test it as is freezes every time you leave the PC
idle. I haven't seen it crash during my daily usage, but it does crash when=
the
power management kicks in.
