This problem also occurs on certain graphics & monitor driver combinations =

Windows and is according to the linked thread a firmware problem of the Asus
MG279Q. This almost only happens with GCN2 AMD cards.
There seems to exist a fix for this since a few weeks, which can only be
applied by Asus' service centers.
So if you have this monitor and experience these problems, try RMAing the
monitor.
I am currently waiting for my replacement monitor. I will tell you if it
worked, when it gets here.
