You mean "./check -n -x fuzzers,dangerous_fuzzers | wc -l" here?

Perhaps a sed is more efficient? e.g.

-		cat $tmp.arglist > $tmp.list
+		sed 's/ \+/\n/g' $tmp.arglist > $tmp.list
