This is to acknowledge that mod_perl isn't the only way to accelerate the GitWeb.cgi web front-end. And, Apache's httpd itself isn't necessary to launch it that better way: It is made possible with the latest snapshot of FCGI::Spawn multi-forked daemon, available to download at: http://gitweb.vereshagin.org/?p=FCGI-Spawn You must patch your CGI.pm with the diff supplied in the distribution, or you may want to patch gitweb.cgi ( replace new CGI with $FCGI::Spawn::fcgi ), althogh it is necessary for POST requests only ( I have no idea where POSTs should be taken for input in GitWeb code ). Thanks for attention. 73! Peter pgp: A0E26627 (4A42 6841 2871 5EA7 52AB 12F8 0CE1 4AAC A0E2 6627) -- http://vereshagin.org
