I have offered to give any serious git developer an HP-UX account, so one can found out themselves. There *are* GNU tools around, and I *can* add other tools. I - of course - cannot install *all* GNU tools. I don't put serious restrictions on the wishes of developers. You ask we play. Mostly. The problem here is that I can configure, build, and test any tool (git) on my system using every GNU tool I might have available, but once I convert this build into a package/distribution, and people around the world download it and expect it to work, it will fail if the tool (git) depends on available system commands that now do not meet the needs of the tool (git).
