And after a completely unrelated conversation about tags at $WORK this afternoon, I'm half tempted to make a refs/tags/svn directory with lightweight tags named for SVN revs that point to the appropriate git object. That idea along with a bunch of others are now brewing a 2.0 in my head since I started revisiting this proces.
