Did you mean
$ sudo git daemon --verbose --inetd --export-all --base-path=/pub/git &
(Notice the duplicated 'git-daemon' in your command.)

They way in which you invoked git-daemon said that the following
directories are white-listed:
git-daemon
-verbose
--inetd
--export-all
--base-path=/pub/git
Nowhere in this list is /pub/git/u-boot.git.
