From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Jens Lehmann Subject: [PATCH] Add the --submodule option to the diff option family Date: Sat, 17 Oct 2009 20:46:20 +0200 Message-ID: <4ADA10FC.40708@web.de> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-15 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: Johannes Schindelin , Git Mailing List To: Junio C Hamano X-From: git-owner@vger.kernel.org Sat Oct 17 20:49:56 2009 Return-path: Envelope-to: gcvg-git-2@lo.gmane.org Received: from vger.kernel.org ([209.132.176.167]) by lo.gmane.org with esmtp (Exim 4.50) id 1MzELk-0003q0-1C for gcvg-git-2@lo.gmane.org; Sat, 17 Oct 2009 20:49:56 +0200 Received: (majordomo@vger.kernel.org) by vger.kernel.org via listexpand id S1753272AbZJQStP (ORCPT ); Sat, 17 Oct 2009 14:49:15 -0400 Received: (majordomo@vger.kernel.org) by vger.kernel.org id S1753194AbZJQStO (ORCPT ); Sat, 17 Oct 2009 14:49:14 -0400 Received: from fmmailgate03.web.de ([217.72.192.234]:39216 "EHLO fmmailgate03.web.de" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1753152AbZJQStN (ORCPT ); Sat, 17 Oct 2009 14:49:13 -0400 Received: from smtp08.web.de (fmsmtp08.dlan.cinetic.de [172.20.5.216]) by fmmailgate03.web.de (Postfix) with ESMTP id 666BB126C778B; Sat, 17 Oct 2009 20:46:25 +0200 (CEST) Received: from [80.128.52.242] (helo=[192.168.178.26]) by smtp08.web.de with asmtp (WEB.DE 4.110 #314) id 1MzEIL-0001kn-00; Sat, 17 Oct 2009 20:46:25 +0200 User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 (X11/20090812) X-Sender: Jens.Lehmann@web.de X-Provags-ID: V01U2FsdGVkX19/gVOxe1VIQqn/RpkqlX5i8lMg5oxMEu/G0ykp TqBL2sSB2riZ9YzLUeCIvX090zQ62fzc+aUKfuqkmtQnX3h9Wj 700KqIkBPbrqvSE4WwIw== Sender: git-owner@vger.kernel.org Precedence: bulk List-ID: X-Mailing-List: git@vger.kernel.org Archived-At: When you use the option --submodule=left-right-log you can see the submodule summaries inlined in the diff, instead of not-quite-helpful SHA-1 pairs. The format imitates what "git submodule summary" shows. To do that, /.git/objects/ is added to the alternate object databases (if that directory exists). This option was requested by Jens Lehmann at the GitTogether in Berlin.
