After seeing Berlin have a meetup recently[1], I wonder if we have
enough critical mass for a similar meetup in Silicon Valley. I know of
my own team and one or two other contributors in the Bay, but since
there are so many developers here, surely there must be more?
Please respond (directly to me is fine, if you don't want the whole
world to know your location) with answers to the following, iff you
are in or near the Bay Area and interested to meet.
* Which part of the Bay is your preference? (San Francisco / East Bay
/ South Bay / Peninsula / other)
* Which days of the week/time of the day are you most available? (e.g.
weekdays after 6pm, weekend mornings, only Thursdays coinciding with
the crescent waning moon)
* If you are interested in helping to organize such a meetup, please
indicate this.
Hopefully we can get some fun meetup together, or even a recurring one :)

We (GerritForge) are based in Sunnyvale, CA, and would be interested.
Currently, we host the GerritMeets once a month (see https://www.meetup.com/gerritmeets/), and we often talk about Git topics.
Gerrit is 100% based on Git for everything, including reviews and all meta-data.
Not a surprise, therefore, that 90% of the Gerrit topics are actually Git topics.

San Francisco is always a bit far to reach if you don’t live in the city.
Anywhere around Mountain View / Sunnyvale / Cupertino / San Jose would be best for us.

Dani typically organises the GerritMeets; I’m sure he would be happy to help with the Git meetups as well :-)

That would be nifty.

I don't care, especially, so long as there's parking at the venue.

I'm available throughout the week; just need to work around my business
travel schedule.

Sure. I'd love to get involved. Let's get on one another's lunch
calendars to talk about putting this together.
I have availability for an early meetup on Friday, the 18th. Say 11am?

Sounds fun.

South Bay (southeast San Jose would be optimal, but Sunnyvale/Mountain
View/etc. are fine)

Tues & Fri tend to be the most free currently; there's a reasonably
good chance I could attend if the event is on one of those days.
Can't do early mornings (getting kids to school...); might be able to
do an evening but they're a bit more likely to conflict than during
the day, but between those are likely fine.

I helped organize the Berlin one, but I'm in the Bay Area often and
would be happy to attend or even help organize there.

I personally feel like SF is good, since I live in Berkeley and SF is
easiest to reach from both the east bay and the peninsula. But I can
make it anywhere.

We did our Berlin one in the evening. Good pizza and beer time.

I am happy to help organize, but I probably couldn't do it until early
Dec or early next year. Happy to do the next one if you feel that's
too far away.
Or, what also might be interesting is to do one in the evening on Mon
Oct 28th, as there will be a lot of people in town for GitHub
Universe.

I'll be in town for that, and it would be a lot of fun to meet up with
some CA-local Git folks while I'm there, too.
Thanks,
Taylor

I may be interested if I were nearby, but unfortunately I won't.
I'll be back online at the end of the month, but not in California.

Yeah, I'll miss this as well as I'll be on leave - but I think it's a
great idea, if someone wants to coordinate it.
