Here are the topics that have been cooking in my tree. Commits
prefixed with '+' are in 'next' (being in 'next' is a sign that a
topic is stable enough to be used and are candidate to be in a
future release). Commits prefixed with '-' are only in 'seen', and
aren't considered "accepted" at all and may be annotated with an URL
to a message that raises issues but they are no means exhaustive. A
topic without enough support may be discarded after a long period of
no activity (of course they can be resubmit when new interests
arise).

Copies of the source code to Git live in many repositories, and the
following is a list of the ones I push into or their mirrors. Some
repositories have only a subset of branches.

With maint, master, next, seen, todo:

	git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/git/git.git/
	git://repo.or.cz/alt-git.git/
	https://kernel.googlesource.com/pub/scm/git/git/
	https://github.com/git/git/
	https://gitlab.com/git-scm/git/

With all the integration branches and topics broken out:

	https://github.com/gitster/git/

Even though the preformatted documentation in HTML and man format
are not sources, they are published in these repositories for
convenience (replace "htmldocs" with "manpages" for the manual
pages):

	git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/git/git-htmldocs.git/
	https://github.com/gitster/git-htmldocs.git/

Release tarballs are available at:

+ diff: make sure the other caller of diff_flush_patch_quietly() is silent
(this branch is used by ly/diff-name-only-with-diff-from-content; uses jk/diff-from-contents-fix.)

The code to squelch output from "git diff -w --name-status"

+ t7528: work around ETOOMANY in OpenSSH 10.1 and newer

Recent OpenSSH creates the Unix domain socket to communicate with

OK, looks like you picked up the fix from the last round of discussion.
Good. Is this destined for 'maint'? My patch fixed the regression from
v2.51.1 with "--quiet", but I think there is still one for "-w --raw",
etc. And so our choices are:

  1. Take jc/diff-from-contents-fix to maint to fix that.

  2. Take ly/diff-name-only-with-diff-from-content to maint to fix that.

  3. Let that bug remain until those topics hit 'master'.

As I said earlier, I had at first thought that the bug there was just an
incomplete fix, but it really is a regression (extra garbled output).
I'm OK if we want to do (3), but there was so much discussion I want to
make sure that we're making the choice intentionally.

Also, (though maybe a bit late since it's in next): the comment in your
patch has some typos in it. But if I'm optimistic maybe we get rid of it
in the long run anyway. ;)

The plan is to merge "j?/diff-from-contents-fix" down to 'maint';
any other changes that tweak dry-run are to be done 'next' down to
'master' but not to 'maint' as a longer term "true fix".

OK, that sounds good. I wasn't sure if it would have said "Will merge to
'master' and then 'maint'" here in that case (like it does for the jk/
version). But I guess it is just that these notes are for your human
eyes, and not a script. :)
