I created the same iso image I referred to earlier in this thread with grub 1.98 and cdfailinf/cdfailwa patch applied. cdfailinf (broken machine): 0 0 0 cdfailinf (working machine): 0 0 9f cdfailwa brings up the menu on the broken machine and on another working machine, where I tested it too.
