This patch adds the testcases for verifying the new extended
gem_create ioctl. By means of this extended ioctl, memory
placement of the GEM object can be specified, i.e. either
shmem or stolen memory.
These testcases include functional tests and interface tests for
testing the gem_create ioctl call for stolen memory placement

I think changing this and the other negative tests to "stolen-no-mmap"
to make it clear when running that is a negative test.

pwrite/pread to stolen is just a few lines of kernel to fix, if we want
the api. Considering how difficult it is to access stolen on gen6+, we
probably do.

Also test GTT access. You should also hook up gem_concurrent_all to
exercise coherency tests through stolen. That will be not a fun task
though to teach it the restricted API. Similarly, we do want to exercise
set-caching on stolen as well. Our presumption is that it is normal
memory as far as the GPU goes (only the MCH has the filter) and should
verify that all stolen objects actually behave identially.
Similarly, check that we bind stolen to framebuffers (yes, I know the
kernel already does that, but it has been buggy in the past, and it is a
definite use-case for stolen).

With a name like gem_create_stolen() I expect it to only create a stolen
obj i.e. always set create.flags = I915_GEM_CREATE_STOLEN.

The default behaviour is for gem_create() to die if it fails (and so
cause a FAIL, we do explicit checks to skip the test if we don't have
kernel support beforehand). That saves all the various igt_assert()
noise you have in your test cases.

So without exposing flags to gem_create_stolen() we don't need to expose
the extended create struct or the extended aperture struct. That should
make life easier if we ever feel the desire to update the required min
version of libdrm and switch over to the kernel headers.

So this is weird. libdrm doesn't know the limitations (can't even tell
if the drm_intel_bo we generate is a full object or not - similar we can
expect such problems across flink/dma-buf, eek, I had better write a few
more tests to ensure that I have appropriate levels of fallback handling
in place). I would just use gem_mmap__cpu here to avoid the confusion of
using libdrm and the digression I just went on :)

So here, I would just create a copy of the local_create_v2 and do
explicit ioctls. There is no point in complicating the more general
library API just to ease a single test. Or create a
__gem_create_with_flags() if you don't want to copy the struct around.

Looks like a nice set of tests. Otoh, the only other thing that
concerned me was checking that stolen speed is resonable - but I see you
have that covered below.

This patch adds the testcases for verifying the new extended

If we do that, I would actually create gem_create.c to do the parameter
testing of CREATE, and rename this to gem_stolen.c as this covers the
functional side of using stolen (i.e. not limited to testing the CREATE

Oh right I totally missed that. Especially for future extension I think
Chris' idea to split up tests sounds really good, i.e.
gem_create/invalid-flags (the one testcase I didn't spot)
gem_stolen/<all the other tests>
Otherwise the next person extending gem_create will miss your
invalid-flags test for it.

As I see, to validate the parameters for gem_create ioctl there needs to
be verification for size too, other than the newly added parameter
flags.
I will create new igt for validating the parameters of gem_create ioctl.
(i.e. invalid size and flags)
Can you please suggest any other tests that can be added to the
gem_create igt?

Besides testing a few invalid sizes (0, not page-aligned) and ensuring
invalid flags get rejected I don't think we need more gem_create ioctl
input validation tests.
