From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Vasiliy Kulikov Date: Sat, 30 Oct 2010 14:26:17 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] xfs: linux-2.6: xfs_ioctl: fix information leak to userland Message-Id: <1288448778-5373-1-git-send-email-segooon@gmail.com> List-Id: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: kernel-janitors@vger.kernel.org Cc: Eric Sandeen , Alex Elder , linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org, xfs@oss.sgi.com, xfs-masters@oss.sgi.com, Dave Chinner , Christoph Hellwig al_hreq is copied from userland. If al_hreq.buflen is not properly aligned then xfs_attr_list will ignore the last bytes of kbuf. These bytes are unitialized. It leads to leaking of contents of kernel stack memory.
