I don't really have any suggestions other than that. I've been having trouble reliably bisecting; sometimes seemingly-bad kernels work OK and other times thought-OK kernels fail even though I've stopped Gnome and HAL. At this point I'm suspecting intermittent hardware failure and am getting set up to test on a similar machine. -andy ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 69+ messages in thread

Possibly, but then we did use to have all interrupts disabled at some stage before going to suspend_late anyway no ? So it shouldn't make a big difference. The VIA interrupt must not be HW masked in the PIC on some machines because it's the wakeup source, so we may have to force re-enable it since it can be lazy-disabled, but those aren't the machines with the trackpad problem so I think I'll need to have a closer look at what's going on and get my head around it. But it should definitely be retitled -- the commit bisect pointed out has little to do with the problem. And Handled-by should point to Ivo since he was asking for debugging info and stuff. Retitle to "rt2x00: slow wifi with correct basic rate bitmap" or something like that, it's not a bug in mac80211. johannes [-- Attachment #2: This is a digitally signed message part --] [-- Type: application/pgp-signature, Size: 801 bytes --] ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 69+ messages in thread

Takashi Iwai identified the cause of this problem and provided a patch. I tested the patch and confirmed that it solves the problem. The patch was integrated into mainline with the following commit: === 8< === commit 461c6c3a0a23a8fac1a4b636e93ff5dfe599a241 Author: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Date: Mon May 25 08:06:02 2009 +0200 ALSA: hda - Add missing check of pin vref 50 and others in Realtek codecs Some Realtek codecs like ALC861 seem to support only VREF50 while the current driver assumes it's only VREF80. Check other VREF bits to set the correct value. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> === >8 === Regards, M.
