I don't know if a driver is written for any such device. but these new devices have already started hitting the market, and i would mostly be interested in working on the cheapest of them all. I don't have a laptop right now, but as soon as i get one i would surely want to attach one of these GSM modem in linux. This is how you both solve bugs, and learn about solving them yourself. I'll be glad to take this to the linux-usb or linux-kernel lists, as this type of conversation is quite common there, so why wouldn't it also be common here? If it's annoying you, I suggest getting a better email client, one that lets you mark any thread as "ignored" so we don't bother you. best of luck, greg k-h ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 16+ messages in thread

If you want some code that you can adjust and compile, LDD3 book comes with example drivers for memory devices . Maybe you can start modifiying these drivers to learn how kernel drivers works. I create a project that contains all the LDD3 book examples updated to compile and work with recent kernels, you can find the source code here: https://github.com/martinezjavier/ldd3 > Also interesting in wireless devices. > > http://wireless.kernel.org/en/developers There you can find todo-list, GSoC ideas and wireless developer summits notes. So you can know what kind of work is needed in the wireless subsystem. -- Best regards, ----------------------------------------- Javier Mart?nez Canillas (+34) 682 39 81 69 ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 16+ messages in thread
