Not getting serial console prints

Hello Greeting!!

Sorry this could be a silly question, as i am new to this.

Trying to port linux kernel to my new rcar arm 64bit soc board.
I got binaries to start with after flashing them don't see any serial
output.
How do I configure my serial console in kernel?

Is there any bootloader components flashed?
Is yes you should see serial output from those components first.

Yes I see serial output from the bootloader component but serial is quiet
after kernel starts
