From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Sean Christopherson Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2019 01:58:51 +0000 Subject: [PATCH 11/45] KVM: PPC: e500mc: Add build-time assert that vcpu is at offset 0 Message-Id: <20191022015925.31916-12-sean.j.christopherson@intel.com> List-Id: References: <20191022015925.31916-1-sean.j.christopherson@intel.com> In-Reply-To: <20191022015925.31916-1-sean.j.christopherson@intel.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: Marc Zyngier , James Hogan , Paul Mackerras , Christian Borntraeger , Janosch Frank , Paolo Bonzini , =?UTF-8?q?Radim=20Kr=C4=8Dm=C3=A1=C5=99?= Cc: James Morse , Julien Thierry , Suzuki K Poulose , David Hildenbrand , Cornelia Huck , Sean Christopherson , Vitaly Kuznetsov , Wanpeng Li , Jim Mattson , Joerg Roedel , linux-arm-kernel@lists.infradead.org, kvmarm@lists.cs.columbia.edu, linux-mips@vger.kernel.org, kvm-ppc@vger.kernel.org, kvm@vger.kernel.org, linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org In preparation for moving vcpu allocation to common PPC code, add an explicit, albeit redundant, build-time assert to ensure the vcpu member is located at offset 0. The assert is redundant in the sense that kvmppc_core_vcpu_create_e500() contains a functionally identical assert. The motiviation for adding the extra assert is to provide visual confirmation of the correctness of moving vcpu allocation to common code.
