From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Avi Kivity Subject: [PATCH 0/2] Fix MCE not cleared on reset Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2010 14:09:37 +0300 Message-ID: <1278500979-12725-1-git-send-email-avi@redhat.com> Cc: Marcelo Tosatti , Huang Ying To: kvm@vger.kernel.org Return-path: Received: from mx1.redhat.com ([209.132.183.28]:21513 "EHLO mx1.redhat.com" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1754009Ab0GGLJo (ORCPT ); Wed, 7 Jul 2010 07:09:44 -0400 Sender: kvm-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: Injecting an MCE will often panic the guest kernel. After reset, however, a new MCE will not be recognized because kvm thinks the first one is still being processed. Fix by exposing the MCE MSRs to userspace, which will clear them on reset.
