time running too fast in guest system

Hi all,
I managed to get networking running in KVM finally, but still got trouble with time running too fast in guest kernel.
Host is fedora core 6, 2.6.18-1.2869.fc6, x86-64, guest is 2.6.16, kvm is latest SVN (same with kvm-10 though).
I tried with both host and guest kernel running with same scheduler frequency, but problem persist, same as running with -no-kvm
any tips what should I check?

as far as i know, this is a common problem in virtualized environments. i solved this problem by doing an ntp-sync every hour with my host ... that keeps the time on track.

yes, i though about that too, but this is too bad solution, and time is running REALLY too fast, like ~15 faster, so a lot's of things are quite unusable - needs quite lot of praktice to manage to login before login timeouts for example :)
I thing this must have some quite simple solution - maybe not perfect, but at least to get cloick running nearly as fast as the real ones - just to find out how :)

clock=pit guest kernel parameter did the trick!
