hi,
is there a true need for qemu to run kvm on amd machine with pasifica? i have not dig into the kvm code but i presumed the qemu is needed for the real mode phase during boot. on pasifica there is the paged-realmode, namely it is possible to turn on paging without having to switch to protected first, and thus it is possible to run guest real mode code on host in long mode.
thanks in advance,
ofer

qemu is not used for cpu emulation on either amd or intel hosts. It is
used only for the device model: virtual IDE, network card, display, and
the chipset emulation.

Do not meddle in the internals of kernels, for they are subtle and quick to panic.
