Applied & pushed all -- thanks.  I decided not to "fix" the 1KB stack 
allocation issue, because it only looks like a problem, but isn't really.

There were a few whitespace errors in the patches (add trailing 
whitespace, space before tab) which I fixed up.  Please watch out for those.
