Hi, all,

This is today's ABAT testing result against kvm.kernel 3415130f97a18f354853cab694d392553aa51af8 and kvm.userspace a125fbfd00c18a6155afb75a3bf723d3faa2729d.

We found a new issue that 64bit host will crash when boot smp guest.
We didn't test pae host, because kvm cannot be built as external modules and our build system only can build kvm external modules.
New issue
================================================
1. 64bit host crashed when boot SMP linux guest

This is fixed now (the build issue -- not the crash). However
performance of kvm-34 and above will be better when it is built with
Linux 2.6.24 and above (or kvm.git).

I'll look into this. Unfortunately the preemption notifier emulation
for older kernels is quite difficult to debug.

Avi,
Thank you very much for the fix!
I will try to update to new kernel in our testing.
For the crash issue, do you mean this issue only happens on old kernel?

The build fix is in kvm-userspace.git.

Yes. It should not happen if the kernel is compiled from kvm.git, only
if compiled as an external module.

Do not meddle in the internals of kernels, for they are subtle and quick to panic.

Hi,Avi

Thanks for the update!
I noticed our build machine has already built out new packages with external modules today.
And I will try to test kvm.git with build-in kvm, see if there is any issue.

Thanks
Yunfeng

This is fixed with the latest kvm-userspace.git
(281c30c69de6e228a3ef17956befa580175505e5).
