Hello,
- First: KVM is a wonderful thing, keep on the good work!
- I have a simple question: is it possible to connect windows running under KVM
on a Linux machine to the Internet?
- In case it is possible, I would appreciate if somebody will write a
little howto on how to to this.
Another question is this:
- I want to connect windows running under KVM on a Linux machine to the
linux machine. I know that this is possible, but I encounter difficulties.
I know about programming (java in linux) but I don't know much about
qemu and bridging.
- Again , I think that some little howto on this is required and I will
appreciate if somebody will take this task on himself.
KVM is a wonderful thing, but I think that topics like these two should be
addressed so that KVM will gain more popularity (especially the
first, connecting to the Internet; this question is asked by almost
everybody whom I
talk to and tell about running windows under KVM on linux)
Regards,
Rafi

It is already written for qemu:
http://calamari.reverse-dns.net:980/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/bridge
http://calamari.reverse-dns.net:980/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/QemuNetwork
You can be kind enough and rip it into KVM wiki.

It's that same issue. Once you have bridges networking regular ip
traffics works
for all scenarios.

If you want the Windows virtual machine to connect to the Internet,
rather than accept incoming connections, then the default configuration
is sufficient. For example, to browse the web, just point your browser
at the URL.

Any sufficiently difficult bug is indistinguishable from a feature.
